Great Soul Reclaimer: earn 100,000 Souls
Great Soul Reclaimer unlocks after you earn 100,000 total Souls. It tracks Souls earned over time, not the number currently held in one run, so spending Souls and starting another run do not require you to rebuild a single 100,000-Soul balance.
The requirement is cumulative Souls earned
The developer-linked achievement list ↗ (external; new tab) gives the condition as “Earn 100,000 total souls.” The separate Xbox achievement listing ↗ (external; new tab) matches that wording.
You do not need 100,000 Souls visible in your wallet at the same time. Treat the goal as lifetime earning progress: collect Souls during runs, spend them when useful, and continue earning in later runs.
Separate achievement progress from the run balance
Your current Souls are a run resource. The documented run loop starts a fresh run at zero Souls, while Great Soul Reclaimer is worded as a total earned across play. These are different counters: the run balance can reset even though cumulative achievement progress continues.
| Action | Effect on the achievement route |
|---|---|
| Pick up or receive Souls | Adds to the stated earn-total condition. |
| Spend Souls on a current-run service | Reduces the balance you hold; the achievement does not ask you to keep those Souls unspent. |
| Start a new run | Resets held Souls to zero under the run rules, then gives you another run in which to earn more. |
| Hold Souls for a Soulbound Boon | May matter to that Boon’s effect, but is a separate decision from cumulative achievement progress. |
For the underlying reset and difficulty rules, see the developer-linked run guide ↗ (external; new tab) and our Souls and Gold explanation.
Use the highest difficulty you can clear consistently
The run guide says higher difficulties award more Souls, but it does not publish a universal Souls-per-minute table. The reliable plan is therefore to complete repeatable runs at the highest difficulty you can clear without turning failures into slower progress.
- Choose a difficulty you can finish consistently; move up after the next level unlocks and remains manageable.
- Complete mission objectives and the run rather than abandoning a stable route for an unverified farming trick.
- Spend Souls when the purchase improves your chance to finish. Holding them is not part of the achievement wording.
- Repeat and let the platform achievement notification confirm the threshold; no trustworthy in-game percentage display was verified for this guide.
Community route: useful clue, not a proven fastest method
A recent player report described repeating Warden on Hellish difficulty, including failed attempts, as progress toward the trophy. That is a single community observation, not a controlled rate test or an official guarantee. Because 1.0.2 corrected premature achievement awards on Steam and Epic, an older unlock report is not reliable evidence for the current earning threshold or fastest route. Prefer the documented total-earned requirement and repeatable run plan.
The achievement condition and higher-difficulty reward direction are documented. This page does not claim an exact per-run total, a verified fastest route, or a working progress-counter screen. If the achievement does not unlock after you have clearly passed the requirement, record your platform and installed game version, restart the platform client once, and use the official support channel rather than deleting save data.
Current-run Souls can also affect some Boons, so review the Boon limits before spending solely for this achievement. Save recovery and backup steps are in the save-file guide.
Achievement wording was cross-checked against the developer-linked list and a platform achievement listing. Run-reset and reward-direction details were checked against the developer-linked run guide.
Early PC unlocks and missing Steam Deck unlocks are different bugs
The official 1.0.2 release notes ↗ (external; new tab) list two distinct Great Soul Reclaimer corrections: awards arriving too early on Steam/Epic, and the achievement not being awarded on Steam Deck. Neither note changes the published 100,000-total-Souls requirement.
If an old guide reports a surprisingly quick unlock, do not use it to infer a lower target. If your Deck achievement is missing, first check that 1.0.2 is installed, then record the platform achievement state and your earning history for support. The notes do not say whether every previously eligible save will unlock retroactively, or specify a trigger that forces it.
Keep the save intact; do not reset a character or overwrite progress merely to test an achievement. The save guidance explains why switching devices to chase an unlock is currently a poor test.
